Lots of activity round the kennel lately.
Mumdog has her head in cupboards
and I help by putting my head in there too.
Big dog carries things around,
I am in charge of guarding the house against cats.
I do a splendid job with my Big Voice.
They wont let me on the front porch because
I leap over the fence like Nureyev. Since
no one seems to appreciate my dancing,
I dance with toys instead.
The lady-who-gives-me-treats says I have a high prey drive.
She has visited twice and talks in a special voice
that only I can hear. She will be staying here to
be my person soon,
because Mumdog and Bigdog
are going on a long hunt
and cat security is too important.
I will be brave, but I have to
be my person soon,

I will be brave, but I have to
double check their shedules on my blackberry
to make sure.
to make sure.
Lady-who-gives-me-treats
says it will be 67 dinners,
says it will be 67 dinners,
or 134 walks.
She won't know how many poops because
She won't know how many poops because
I am a very good pooper
and she probably cant count that far.
and she probably cant count that far.
Mumdog made me this great backdrop
for my latest installation.
I steal most of my ideas from Buster.
He works mainly in paper, but does mixed media like me.
I hope to have lots of work done
by the time the pack returns.

I know everything will be OK.
I've buried some extra bones just in case.
I do it with my nose, see?

I have to wait till she and her mate get home
for my second walk.
They do daytime stuff away from the kennel,
so I will be amping up the cat security.
I think it will be OK.
Are there are cats in Paris?
Are there are cats in Paris?

You're off for your big adventure! Bon voyage MumDog and BigDog!
ReplyDeleteBe brave, Bruce. I was alone for 42 days [in a gulag] and it was okay. You're going to be home in your own kennel, with someone to feed you and pick up your poop. What could go wrong?
Be happy and stay calm. BIG HUGS, your friend Georgia x
Paris! Oh how wonderful! I believe there are lots of doggy treats in Paris for good dogs.
ReplyDeleteBruce you are adorable, nothing will go wrong and you have a very big responsibility with all those bad cats around. Enjoy the lady with the treats, and just think how excited you will be to see all the photos when MumDog and Bigdog get home again. Hugs to you from Little Charlie - who has just started on heart capsules and doesn't like it one bit!
ReplyDeletePriceless!
ReplyDeleteohhh imagine the fun you're going to have while Mumdog and Bigdog are away, remember the saying 'while the cat's away the mice will play' and you're much bigger than a mouse. I hope Mumdog and Bigdog have fun inParis too.
ReplyDeletebon voyage travellers...
ReplyDelete...do cushions count as prey?
aarrgghh Bruce, you're a stunner.... have fun all...
ReplyDeletehugs
I am falling for you Bruce.
ReplyDeleteWell it would seem that Mumdog and Bigdog can rest easy knowing that you have that whole pesky cat situation under control. I am certain that the lady-who-gives-you-treats is gonna be heaps of fun to hang around with even though I know you will miss your regular clan. They will miss you too. For sure. Happy trails one and all.

Bruce, I know all will be well in the absence of your Pack Leaders. It sounds like you will be in very good hands with the lady-who-gives-treats and you will surely be very busy keeping the cats at bay so the days will fly by. Best wishes to you, and bon voyage to MD and BD. Paris! How fabulous! xxoo, sus
ReplyDeleteThere ARE cat rabble everywhere, Paris is no exception.
ReplyDeletePhotogenic AND functional. The best! -J
Bon voyage Mumdog. Laduree for afternoon tea!!
ReplyDeleteGood Dog, Dog.
Well, it's a good thing they have The Best Cat Chaser Ever who's willing (if reluctant) to stay behind and guard the homestead. And I'll just bet they'll bring you home some of the best-tasting French treats for your reward.
ReplyDeletePARIS!? Wow.
ReplyDeleteJust think how fine will be the big home coming.
xxoo
I nominate this as The Best Post Ever! Safe journey and happy cat watching to all!
ReplyDeleteoh, once they leave have open up the pantry,
ReplyDeletetry on all the designer clothes
and have a Big Block Party. Dancing allowed! :)
.
enjoy the wonderful trip!
Lucky you off to Paris!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Bruce will survive without you --poor chap!
Buster thinks that he could do a good collaboration with Bruce
then they could have an exhibition
and get discovered
and become even bigger stars than they already are.
Take lots of pictures in France.
I wish I could tag along for the FOOD!
Oh Bruce you're magic, it runs in your family ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteDear Bruce, don't be anxious. Everyone will have a fabulous time! Especially you - think of all those treats :)
ReplyDeleteBruce! I wish you'd come here to Nova Scotia and help Hoagy with cat patrol. He's getting a bit aged and might miss one or two. Ask for fromage from Paris as a treat!
ReplyDeleteyou are wonderful Bruce!
ReplyDeleteBuster sent me over to visit
you're so very tall and handsome
and lovable
nice to meet you :)
I think you will be okay Bruce, sounds like you are going to be well cared for.
ReplyDeleteI second Seth's notion for best post ever! Your writings are always a delight.
Bruce, as intently as you watch the laptop screen, I know you will be a deft paw on the Blackberry. Cat patrollers and their feeders send votes of extreme confidence in your skills. And safe, glorious travels to all who are venturing out. xo
ReplyDeleteAaaaahhh Paris....you lucky thing! AND working with Julie Arkell ... I am so jealous, envious ... and of course happy for you! I hope you can come down Melbourne way and do some workshops when you get back.
ReplyDeleteLike dog...I will be patiently waiting for your return and looking forward to snaps of what you've been up to. I will leave the cat patrolling to Bruce though.
