I'm making a little movie about Clarrice, and
returning to a skill almost forgotten - editing sound.
returning to a skill almost forgotten - editing sound.
Many lifetimes ago, I worked in the fitness industry.
I made the music everyone jumped up and down to.
I taught others how to jump up and down.
I taught others how to jump up and down.
This was back when we had dial up internet
and analogue tapes.
and analogue tapes.
I mixed vinyl the old fashioned way - on turn tables
and butchered it edited it later
on state of the art digital programmes like Sound Tools.
Now you can download it free.
I've always been a sound geek, and, like the circle of life,
sound geeking has returned.
I'm documenting nearly 50 years of relationship
between Clarrice,
between Clarrice,
and fellow textile artist David.
You remember Clarrice,
she makes extroadinary tapesties on
fly screen wire she calls, "window wire".
They met when she was 16.

He looks out for Clarrice
like a giant Labrador, one eye always on her.
My inner geek is satisfied.
The little docco will be part of the Marrickville Councils
festival featuring residents over 55 and their stories.
I'm glued to a computer screen and loving
every minute of cutting and pasting video and audio.
It's alot like collage.
That is new/old project #1.
Stand by for new/old #2.
