cooperation, and hope amongst strangers.
A new kind of activism.

I love her work.
It's breaking down social fear and alienation,
inviting connection,
art and helping us remember
that as a people,
maybe we can change things..
It's lo-fi and grass roots.

So I will listen to sparrow's fleeting song,
and savour each moment as it comes,
because hound is also living this way,
day by day.
and savour each moment as it comes,
because hound is also living this way,
day by day.

He has great drugs,
is pain free and happy to still
go out for walks and play.
Who could ask for more in life?
He is teaching me to live in the moment.

A very sweet song.
ReplyDeletea beautiful invitation to join with everyone to live a full, rich, happy life.
ReplyDeleteWhat a satisfied looking dog. And thanks for the link to Amy's place. She sounds like a doll! And another thank you for your comment on my blog about perhaps I really *did* hug my grandmother and fall in love. Today I was listening to Public Radio talk about Israel Kamakawiwoʻole and his rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." He said in an interview that like all native Hawaiians he lived in "both worlds." What a great thought! xxooxx
ReplyDelete... oh stop ... he looks so wise, so loved, so handsome, so loving. To have each other, to know what only you two know, you're right ... how could there possibly be more! xoxo.
ReplyDeleteThat beautiful, wise hound .... he has the look of a wiley wolf in those eyes.
ReplyDeleteLooove sparrow and her sweet song.

Have to tell you...word verification is 'bless'

ReplyDeleteI love your Dog!!!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post Grrl. But you know my favourite bit? Of course you do...that gorgeous hound. The last image bought a lump to my throat. I am glad he is pain free. Take time both of you to listen to the songs and enjoy the days.
ReplyDeleteToday is the day! Beautiful, Grrl. DOG-GOD
ReplyDeleteYou had me at world's smallest postal service. I think of a shoebox of my grandmother's threads, bits of crochet, straight pins, buttons, that my aunt sent along to me. Your post and Amy's work remind me that we don't always reach all the way down into the bottom of the box - or bag - where the pivotal scrap may rest. We are, when unencumbered by our demons, so much more than we know, even more when expanded by connection. I thank you so much for the introduction to her and for noticing the wisdom of sparrow and hound.
ReplyDeletei am in love with sparrow... and the bottom picture of dog. what bright spirits... xoxo

ReplyDeleteHello Sparrow.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. Viral can be good.
Day by sparrow sung day for a little dog here who loves listening to little birds.
We all should try to savour each moment, live in the now.
ReplyDeleteBaxter is wise, he knows how to make the most of each and every moment, give him a hug from me.
Hi, It's my first comment and I've come in late, but anyway I just wanted to say that I really love your projects. I love the yarn bombing and plastic people and your beautiful, heartfelt little soft people too. You dog looks like a wise old man and most loyal friend. Keep on shining.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great message you are sharing in this post.
ReplyDeleteoh, everything is lovely here... especially your dog!... your hand stitching and your sparrow pull at my heart. roxanne
ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Georgia and I live in Sydney too. My human and I have been reading your blog for a while but this is the first time we're commenting.
ReplyDeleteWe love your work and are amazed at the things you do. It makes my human wish she could knit, sew, crochet, etc but it's hard to with 10 thumbs. Of course i can't either because I have no opposable thumbs.
Anyway, we decided to be brave today and write you, just to let you know we love the message in this post, your dog's face, and will be checking out the beckoning of lovely for sure.
Thank you and have a great day! :)
Oh, hound, sweet hound. What a love you two have.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blog comment, pal. I appreciate it. Drawing relaxed and starting with some basic shapes is sort of fun, but it is hard to relax. It's different drawing while standing - and using a sort of a "painting stick." I hope it's a nice summer where you are. We're coming upon the solstice, aren't we?
ReplyDeleteBless the Puppies...
