even more

Enchanted curious created a mongrel mix of texture and color.

Ro Bruhn must knit the colors of her aura, in fact I have a suspicion that most people do.

Nic took me by the sea. Cool cotton, and a mix of neutral to rest the eyes.
Maybe there will be an
undersea column for the mer folk.

Beth Fedigen put lots of texture in hers...

And this diamond one reminds me of a snake..

I think of pastel colored tiny candies when I look at Janeen's work..

Robyn Love knitted a mile, then laid it out for people to walk it.. you have to see this.

We get just over a metre here to play with.

Sometimes big is better, a fuchsia fest by fyrewitch is bloody huge!

After just mastering the wonkiest cable knit
ever, I am in awe of Vicki 's orange cables

Margaret is a friend who gets me into trouble.
She incites me to mischief, and her knit looked like a giant lolly.

We have a lost sheep... no tag.

Will somebody claim her?

I agree with your aura suspicion!

You have me worried about the aura business because I must be seriously unstable or fickle. I wobble all over the colour/texture spectrum!
Adore these pieces and can't wait to see the poles. My piece just about killed my wrists. Serious RSI but knittaholic tendencies overcome mere physical frailities (:
Pilgrimage to Canberra getting more exciting as it looms :)

That aura thing works for a lot of our art work, I think. An old friend of mine (that One, you know, that you always think of and say "What if ?" but thank God that it never happened !)used to tell me he saw people's auras whenever they walked in a room. He told me I was a strong mixtures of blues and greens with shades of purple mixed in when I would get more intense.
What colors do you think you are, grrl ?
Your knitters are as wonderous as the Earth's own palette !

Such colors and colors

as an art form this time.

oh my! what a lot of eye candy for us and must also be touch candy for you. I'm knitting these days though I don't usually knit in the summer. But I had a pal in the hospital so knitting seemed good. Knit and talk and rub her feet.
ya.

Can't wait to see how you put it all together...the poles are going to look so deliciously tactile with their warm and fuzzy technicoloured coats!

I love the idea about the auras - and the knitup I sent you is a color that I would wear, but never paint my house in any kind of blues
wonder what THAT means

What a fascinating idea, knitting the colours of your aura. I have always wished I could see auras - has anyone here seen them?

The momentum is building ...and I can't wait to see photos of the installation. What I'm really enjoying is that people all over the world are knitting and sending their pieces to you to create art. Within each piece are many good wishes, thoughts and smiles, and this makes the whole experience so amazingly special.

Each one of these is so beautiful... I know we all definitely have our own pallets... so that might be our aura too.... Roxanne

Well we wouldn't want those columns to get chilly. Damn it gets cold in Canberra.
AND they're going to look fabulous.
What more could a pillar want....

I love seeing all of the bits that people have sent to you! I wish that I had time for this project. Next time for sure!

I'm so not into knitting at this time in my life but I always have to check on you as you are so much fun and I have always loved the guerilla art concept. You go girl!

What a fabulous mix Dneese, can't wait to see the finished installation, it might help warm up some of our polies hearts if they take a stroll to the gallery. I took a two day workshop with the colour guru himself, Kaffe Fassett, many years ago, his philosophy is if in doubt add twenty more colours, I think I took it to heart. Good luck and thanks for letting us all not be afraid to knit in public.

Dneese I find your work so uplifting, I love coming by. I'm not really a knitter but am starting to be tempted. Will you have an installation going mid October as I might be in Sydney and would love to see in person?
